The history of Gibson Les Paul dates back to the 1950’s. Gibson Les Paul the solid body electric guitar was first sold in 1952. The Gibson Les Paul was first designed by the popular guitarist Les Paul in collaboration with Ted McCarthy. It is one of the most popular and well known electric guitar in the world apart from that of the Telecaster and Fender Stratocaster. Epiphone Les Paul standard is very similar to that of Gibson Les Paul standard.
