Brain Drain in India

Brain Drain is a major concern in the Indian economic scenario. So today we are about to discuss here what Brain Drain is about. Brain Drain is the scenario in which individuals who is having knowledge or technical skills tend to migrate or actually migrate from ones country of origin to a foreign country where they get much acceptance and more pay.  Conflicts, political instability or unrest, health risks, lack of opportunity, lower pay and acceptance etc have contributed their part in the process of Brain Drain. So it is considered as a national drain or loss and is also regarded as economic cost. So the issue of Brain Drain can be monitored from two view points

      1.      Individuals viewpoint, and

      2.      Countries or Governmental viewpoint.

From the point of view of the individuals it is a point of visualization of their dream or goal in life. In fact they consider it as a big gift for the capable minds since they are able to achieve their goals and dreams elsewhere by departing the country where they are not recognized and rewarded for their skills and talent. So from the global perspective the talents are getting an opportunity to bloom rather than getting shattered.

Now from the governmental part it is a national drain and the best brains of our countries are going abroad and is using their knowledge and information working with the foreign Nations. They consider it as a sever loss since our country is losing the best competitive and innovative brains and talents. This affects all fields of the economy and ultimately the country and the citizens at large.

So the main problems leading to the Brain Drain can be prioritized as:-

  ü  Lack of Opportunity 

  ü  Lack of acceptance

  ü  Lesser Pay

  ü  Poor standard of living

  ü  Political instability or unrest

  ü  conflicts

  ü  Health risks etc…. 

So these facts have all made their way for the increased Brain Drain in our country. So the possible solution is to eradicate all the above mentioned facts. Our country is having al lot of potential in itself, but these are seldom respected or are recognized. So the only solution is that to utilize all the talents in our country and create more Job opportunities from both the Governments’ side and also from the Entrepreneurs side. Once they set up all the necessities provided a well established and organized working situation in our country, everything will change forever and at that time we will be visualizing Reverse Brain Drain.
